Personal Statement:
I am most grateful to have served ABPM as a Board of Director for over a year now. As a Podiatrist in Miami, Florida who owns and runs a private Podiatric practice, last year, I never expected to receive a call to serve our profession in this magnitude at that stage of my career. I am a wife and a mother of six beautiful girls that completely run my world along with my love for my patients that I serve each day. Honestly, it has been a great honor to serve, and I am truly humbled to have your nomination once again to continue to give back to our profession. ABPM, a board that has helped me stand firm with vase opportunities as I developed my private practice. As a podiatrist and an ABPM Diplomate, I specialize in foot and ankle trauma surgery, limb salvage, wound care, primary podiatric care, and minimal invasive surgery. With my experience thus far with the board, I further understand the challenges facing our profession and the opportunities we strive to achieve together as Podiatrist. From helping to standardize ABPM exam setting by removing barriers that ensure our exams gives each candidate a fair opportunity to demonstrate their knowledge to my joint effort with Maintenance of Certification committee members to innovate our MOC process enhancing the standard and working to align it with our allied counterparts. I most enjoy my current role in the communications committee with part of our mission to improve our public outreach to our Diplomates, non-Diplomates, Residents, and students through our bimonthly webinar series. Through these webinars we have received great feedback that allows ABPM to continue paving the way to educate and provide tools to help our current and future Diplomates be successful in their various specialties. I thank you for the nomination and I hope to continue to serve our profession with pride, honor, and innovation to help move Podiatry Forward!
